The Global Labour University (GLU) is a network of trade unions, universities, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the ILO (International Labour Organisation) to deliver high-level qualification programmes. It offers Masters Courses in five different countries on trade unions, sustainable development, social justice, international labour standards, multinational companies, economic policies and global institutions and promotes research cooperation on global labour issues.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of delivering a workshop to their Alumni Summer School on the subject of co-operation between trade unions and co-operatives, based on work I’ve done in partnership with Pat Conaty, Cilla Ross and Philip Ross (no relation) including Not Alone and Working Together, two reports published by Co-operatives UK and the Co-operative College.
